What is the New Zealand Blackcurrant Co-operative?
New Zealand’s Cassis industry has experienced steady commercial development over the last 40 years. The primary growing region is the Canterbury Plain on the South Island of New Zealand. This region has abundant fresh clean air, pure water and high levels of sunshine that combine with the generations of grower expertise to deliver the very best Cassis in the world.
The New Zealand Blackcurrant Co-operative is an association that is involved in the production, management, sales and marketing for the New Zealand Cassis industry. Members are growers of New Zealand Cassis.
The Co-operative oversees all steps in the growing of New Zealand Cassis. Then immediately after harvest the Co-operative processes the Cassis to juice concentrate, IQF, puree and dried powders. They then sell these ingredients to manufacturers around the world to produce finished products for the consumer.
